Harvard University's collective bargaining agreement with the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers AFSCME, AFL/CIO (HUCTW) includes contractual obligations that regulate the use of temporary agency employees at the University. Specifically, the agreement provides, in relevant part:

"Except under extraordinary circumstances, employees of temporary agencies, including agencies specially contracted with the University, should not work in the same Harvard department or role for more than three months." (Manual, p. 13)

The current HUBS budget applications are being migrated to new servers that are optimized for Hyperion Planning and Essbase (the software that runs HUBS). The benefits of this effort are to improve overall system performance and reliability, provide room for expansion in the HUBS environment, while at the same time consolidating existing servers. The migration to the new servers will begin at 5pm on Friday, March 14th with HUBS becoming unavailable at this time. The University's financial systems will be unavailable from 6:00pm on Friday, March 14th until 6:00am on Monday, March 17th to accommodate a scheduled release.

Important Note: This release will include a JRE update to version 1.7.0.51. Logging into Oracle after this release will prompt a Java JRE update to version 1.7.0_51. This approved update should be allowed.
