Fiscal Year End 2017 Issue

Harvard's fiscal year 2017 will end on Friday, June 30, 2017. As in the past, the University will close the books through a series of steps called "closings." Click here for a printable version of the Summary Schedule for FY2017 Transactions and Reporting.

Please note this year's closing dates:

  • First closing Friday, July 7
  • Second closing Friday, July 14
  • Third closing on Friday, July 21

Upcoming April System Outages for Oracle Financials Systems - FINDINI 4.0.11 Release

Spring 2017 Oracle Financial Platform Improvement (OFPI) project release

This April 2017 FINDINI 4.0.11 release will be available to users on Wednesday April 26, 2017.

Short Summary:

Oracle Financials Outage - 6:00pm on Friday, April 21st until 9:00am on Wednesday, April 26th to accommodate the move of our application and platform to the Amazon Web Services Cloud. CPATH (Capital Planning at Harvard), DMS Financial Data Warehouse, CREW Reporting, & OBI environments will also be offline during this outage.

Fellowship Payments and Reimbursements Information Session

my.harvard Monthly System Maintenance

On the weekend of April  22-23, my.harvard will undergo mandatory system maintenance. The maintenance window is determined by the vendor who hosts our servers. Each maintenance period is quoted for 7 pm Saturday - 7 pm Sunday, though most times the system is available much sooner.

GMAS May 2017 Release

GMAS will be converting the Initial Proposal and Competing Renewal entry process and homepages for the May 2017 release.

Goals

There are 2 major goals for this release.

1. Streamlining the entry process for Initial Proposals and Competing Renewals by requiring less data up front. As a result of this effort, the entry process will lessen from a possible 22 screens down to 1.

HUBS Outage Reminders

April 13, 2017

HUBS users should note the following impacts to HUBS that will occur during the next Oracle Financials release installation - FINDINI 4.0.11. The installation will occur from 6pm on Friday, April 21 to 9am on Wednesday, April 26. During that time:

  • The CCID Validation Utility in HUBS will be unavailable.
  • There will be no Chart of Account updates or new Actuals forthcoming to HUBS.

Modernization of Financial Reporting (MFR) Project Update

OBI Financials Pilot

The MFR Project Team continues to prepare for the go-live of the OBI Financials Dashboards beginning this summer. We have completed the individual school specific Change Management sessions and have begun to put together school specific go-live plans. The Project Team is building the Data Access Controls (DAC) 2.0 solution, developing training materials and conducting Pilot User Sessions to provide greater familiarity with the dashboards.
