HUCTW Salary Increase Process

The next HUCTW salary increase is effective on October 1, 2014.   Union employees will receive a structure of  2%  and a progression amount based on years of service.  Employees with service of a year or more get a full progression. Employees with greater than 6 months but less than 12 get half a progression.  The progression amount is automatically calculated on the Salary Increase Process (SIP) Excel spreadsheet.

August Updates for Electronic Submission Tracking and Reporting (ESTR)

The next release of changes to the Electronic Submission Tracking and Reporting (ESTR) system for IRBs will be completed Thursday, August, 21 2014 between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

This release focuses on revising notifications for greater consistency, and correcting some reported bugs and system issues. This additionally impacts the following elements of IRB system use:

  • Notifications: We have completed a comprehensive review and revision of many notifications based on ESTR use and user-feedback.

CAPS System Blackout Period - September 15, 2014 through End of October

The new automated capital planning system, CPATH (“Capital Planning at Harvard”) will be going live on October 27th. CPATH will be integrated with the CAPS automated system to initiate Project Proposals and with the G/L to pull spending. In an effort to ensure that this integration goes smoothly, the CAPS automated system will have a blackout period from September 15th through the end of October at which time users will have their responsibilities temporarily suspended.

GLACIER is Starting this September

The implementation of GLACIER starts this September.

GLACIER is an online program designed to collect tax-related information from foreign individuals via a secure internet site. GLACIER automatically determines the individual’s U.S. tax status, treaty eligibility, and tax withholding rates based on information that the foreign national enters into the program.  This online tax program will be replacing the University’s use of the paper FNIF form.   To learn more about this program, view this previous...
