Upcoming April System Outages for Oracle Financials Systems - FINDINI 4.0.11 Release

Spring 2017 Oracle Financial Platform Improvement (OFPI) project release

This April 2017 FINDINI 4.0.11 release will be available to users on Wednesday April 26, 2017.

The main focus of this major OFPI release is the migration of the Solaris server based ‘Oracle EBS version 12.1.3 environment’ to the Linux server based ‘Amazon Web Services Cloud’. Modernization of Financial Reporting (MFR) Project Update

OBI Financials Pilot

The Project Team is designing and building the Data Access Controls (DAC) 2.0 solution which is expected to meet most of the access control requirements for each dashboard and school.  DAC 2.0 is planned to be delivered in the Production environment by the end of May for pilot users to continue testing the system with enhanced security features.  Some of the features included in the DAC 2.0 solution are dual segment security (security based on select two segments of the Chart of Account such as Org-Fund, Org-Root), the ability for a user to have multiple roles and non-contiguous segment values.  These enhanced security features will allow us to not only near the final security solution, but also expand the pilot with additional users across the schools and departments.

HUBS News: An Enhancement and Outage Information

Each year the Q2 Forecast and Budget-Final data is pushed to Harvard’s Data Warehouse (HDW), around March and June, respectively.  The data is sent by month for each account string and it has been rounded to the nearest dollar.  Now, since February 28, the data is rounded to the nearest cent.  The following table is an example of how the data for one 33 digit string could look in HUBS, and then how it would look in the HDW before and after the enhancement.  One can see in the example that the enhancement provides for more precise totals in HDW reports and queries:

my.harvard Monthly System Maintenance

On the weekend of March 25-26th, my.harvard will undergo mandatory system maintenance. The maintenance window is determined by the vendor who hosts our servers. Each maintenance period is quoted for 7 pm Saturday - 7 pm Sunday, though most times the system is available much sooner.
