Modernization of Financial Reporting (MFR) Project Update

November 17, 2016

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
CREW Grants Management reports to be decommissioned on December 1st 2016.

At that time, these CREW reports will be disabled and OBI will be the sole source for this information.  The Grants Management reports will be available in both CREW and OBI through November 2016.

Grants Management Dashboards –Training

The decommissioning of the CREW Grants Management reports has been postponed to December 1 to allow the Project Team sufficient time to work with Oracle to address two bugs with the Printable Grants Financial dashboard.  This extension also provides CREW Grants users with more time to take training on the new dashboards – there are two additional training sessions in November.  There will also be monthly training sessions held in December, January and February.  Refer to the OSP Training calendar to register for November and December sessions.  Starting in January, users can register for the OBI Grants Management Dashboard Training using the Harvard Training Portal

The Project Team is also offering online office hour sessions for users to ask any questions that they may have pertaining to the OBI Grants Dashboards.  Users will be able to log into a conference link to ask their questions and get an immediate answer at that time.  Users can also reach out to their Local Implementation Manager (LIM) with any questions.  Also refer to the Grants CREW to OBI Crosswalk which maps the CREW reports to OBI dashboards that provide the same or similar content.

Fall Pilot for Financials Dashboards

The fourteen (14) financials dashboards are now live in the production environment for pilot and super users!  Approximately 150 pilot and super users are using the dashboards to test the system, uncover any data issues and elevate any local concerns with the dashboards.  In January and April 2017, additional pilot users (select department administrators) will be provided access to the financials dashboards.  We will leverage feedback from both the pilot and super users between now and the full scale rollout in July 2017 to enhance the dashboards and associated security.  The CREW Financial Reports are currently planned to be disabled in November 2017.

In order to participate in the current pilot, users must be able to see data for an entire tub.  In late January 2017, Data Access Controls (DAC) 1.0: Single Segment Security, will allow for security on a single segment of the Chart of Accounts (such as Tub, Org, or Fund) and is expected to expand our pilot participation to departmental administrators.  The Project Team will work with key governance groups to deploy additional iterations (DAC 2.0 and 3.0) of security that will support the full scale rollout.
