Oracle Financials Systems: Important advisory on Google Chrome v45 Browser

September 16, 2015

On September 1, Google released Chrome v45. This version of Chrome is not certified by Oracle and will not work with Harvard's version of Oracle Financials. When attempting to access Oracle via Chrome v45, users will see an error stating 'SSL Server Probably Obsolete' or something similar. If you are a Chrome user and have updated to version 45 (either manually or via auto-update), you will need to use an alternate browser such as IE, FireFox, or Safari to gain access to Oracle Financials. We realize this is an inconvenience and are actively researching potential workarounds.

We would also like to remind you that if a user tries to use Firefox v38 or higher they will need to modify their FireFox settings  found here http://huit.harvard.edu/news/firefox-update-instructions-oracle-financial-apps in order to access Oracle Financials.

For questions with regards to this Chrome issue or for assistance making the above adjustments to your FireFox settings, please contact the HUIT Service Desk at ithelp@harvard.edu.
