The University's Financial systems will be unavailable from 6:00pm on Friday, October 23rd until 6:00am on Monday, October 26th to accommodate the scheduled FINDINI 4.0.8 release. This release consists of many technical patches needed to make Oracle EBS compatible with the Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) browser & MS Office 2013. This release also consists of software and database patches in order to keep the system up to date with many industry security regulations and requirements. Financial systems that will be offline during this time include Accounts Payable, Accounts Payable Adjustment Form for Assets, Accounts Receivable, Bottomline, CAPS, Cash Management (CRMA), Chart Security Maintenance Application (CSMA), CoA Validator, Collections, FED EX, General Ledger, GL Validator, Harvard Oracle Assets, HCOM, iProcurement, iReceivables, PCard, Vendor Request, Web ADI, and Web Reimbursement.
Also, the CPATH (Capital Planning at Harvard) environment will also be offline during this same time line for similar software patching needs.
Important Notes:
- The FINDINI 4.0.8 release will include a JRE update to version 1.8.0_51. Logging into Oracle on or after October 26, will prompt a Java JRE update to version 1.8.0_51. This approved update should be allowed. If Users see a pop up message that a later Java version is available, they should NOT act upon the request. Users should not attempt to install anything higher than the Java 1.8.0_51 version.
- JRE 1.8.0_51 requires a Java Advanced Security Setting - Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format enabled. Once the JRE 1.8.0_51 version is updated, end users will also need to navigate to their Java Control panel, select the Advanced Tab, go to the Advanced Security Setting section, and enable ‘Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format’ in order for Oracle Financials to launch using Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.
- Using Oracle WEB ADI with the Firefox browser and Excel 2013 will also require having an IE browser open in the background. You can also just use WEB ADI with the IE Browser and Excel 2013.
