This article provides a monthly HART update and information regarding the upcoming HART upgrade to Oracle Analytical Server version 6.4, the HART 6.4 Self-service Training Program and additional user resources for ARAP and HART.
HART by the Numbers for August 2022
- 2: Average query time to run in seconds

Monthly HART Release
Please note that there will be no September HART Release due to the anticipated upgrade to version 6.4.
HART Upgrade to Oracle Analytics Server Version 6.4
The Oracle Analytics Server, the backbone of the Harvard Analytics and Reporting Tool, will be tentatively upgraded to version 6.4 during the weekend of September 24-25, 2022. HART will be unavailable from Friday, September 23, 2022, 6 pm-Monday, September26, 2022, 7 am for the upgrade. The upgraded version will be available to all users on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Key Information:
Based on initial testing, there will be no impact to the current HART Enterprise Dashboards:
- No new or changes to existing functionality to working with dashboards: Based on our team’s testing, there are no new functionality or changes to existing functionality currently in use on HART enterprise dashboards.
- No impact to customizations or bookmarks: The upgrade is an “in place” upgrade, meaning that neither dashboards nor current customizations need to be migrated to a new environment. Thus, users will not need to stop creating customizations/bookmarks prior to the upgrade.
- No impact to new/existing user requests: Client Services will be able to process requests for new/existing users up to the Friday evening prior to the upgrade, and resume processing requests immediately after the upgrade is complete.
- No change in URL:The HART URLs for standard HART dashboards and HART Data Visualization will remain the same
Enhancements in Self-Service Tools
The upgrade will feature some significant improvements to the self-service Data Visualization product and to the BI Publisher product. HART 6.4 Self-Service Training Program
Immediately following the upgrade, a new suite of HART Self-Service training will be offered for new and existing users.
The training program will include introductory courses for the self-service Analysis and Data Visualization tools, as well as advanced courses for those currently using these two products. An additional offering of BI Publisher will also be available to the current users of that tool. Each training course also provides an optional workshop, allowing users to work with their knowledge in HART. Users are expected to bring questions and use cases to these workshops.
