February 25, 2016

QlikView is an Enterprise Intelligence technology that allows the business to deliver intuitive solutions for self-service reporting, data visualization and guided analytics that enable data driven decision-making.

Earnings Distribution and Earnings Hours applications

We are pleased to announce two HR Analytics Earnings applications that allow for the exploration of salary, wages, and other earnings at the University through a variety of dimensions, including attributes for earnings codes, job characteristics, person characteristics, HR affiliations.  In addition to regular pay earnings, earnings are available for overtime, bonuses, childcare, paid time off, and many other categories.

The Earnings Distribution application includes the full chart of account attributes and the Earnings Hours application includes the sum of all reported hours associated with earnings.

Security

These applications are secured by DPL security which means that you are only allowed to see the earnings of the employees in the departments and affiliations for which you have been granted the rights to see. Access to the QlikView HR applications can be requested via your HR Authorized Requestor

Sample Business Questions

  1. By what costing source are salary and wages increasing or decreasing?
  2. How do the salary and wages for this fiscal year compare with last fiscal year?
  3. What are the total hours and associated earnings for earning groups - Overtime, LHTs, Paid time off?
  4. How do paid time off earnings and hours compare with base salary earnings and hours?

These reports are for analytical purposes; they are not intended for operational use

These two applications present the earnings associated with completed calendar months.  Because the weekly and bi-weekly payrolls are paid in arrears, the data in these two applications is about two months old.

Stay tuned: Our team is currently developing an Operational Earnings application that will include earnings transactions through the end of the prior day.  We will send an announcement when it is available for use.
