2019/2020 Winter Recess Schedule

The University will be in recess from Tuesday, December 24, 2019 until Thursday, January 2, 2020.  Financial and Sponsored systems will be available during winter recess; however, transactions will not be posted to the General Ledger, or refreshed into HART and the Financial Data Warehouse, and the HUIT Support Center (617-495-7777) and FAD staff will be unavailable. A complete list of processing deadlines, cutoffs, and system/support availability leading up to and during the winter recess will be in the December eNews.

FINDINI 4.0.16 Release - Upcoming November System Outages for Oracle Financials Systems this Weekend

The Fall 2019 FINDINI 4.0.16 release will be available to users on Monday November 18, 2019.

Short Summary: The focus during this release timeline continues to be with our collaboration, development, testing, and rollout for our next phase of the ITCRB project, Buy-to-Pay, which will be delivered to Production in the Spring of 2020. We have worked on several new CAPs enhancements during this release timeline that have already been delivered to Production. We have also been working on the new individual digital disbursement payment process during this release timeline, and that has been delivered to Production. In addition, within FINDINI 4.0.16, we are addressing the standard security and compliance software and database patching to keep EBS, CPATH, and our automated testing platform OATS, up to date with many industry security regulations and requirements.

Oracle Financials Outage: 6:00pm on Friday, November 15th until 7:00am on Monday, November 18th to accommodate the installation of this release. CPATH (Capital Planning at Harvard) will also be offline during this outage window as CPATH is also having a release during this weekend.... Position Tracking Status and Enhancements

We are a little over a month live with the first major phase of Position Tracking and Reporting. A HUGE thank you to those of you in the schools and units that have put so much effort into making this transition as smooth as possible. Since we have been live, you have collectively processed over 1,300 position requests. Your partnership and patience has been greatly appreciated by the team.

On Friday, November 1st we introduced new position history functionality. All position tracking users now have access to a position history tile which allows them to view the history of all incumbents and of all approved changes for a given position. Electronic Payment for Individuals
We are excited to introduce Zelle - a fast, safe, and easy way for individuals to receive electronic payments from Harvard. This payment option is available to individuals in the B2P Supplier Portal as of 10/16/19. Individuals with a US bank account and email address can choose Zelle as their preferred payment method in their Supplier Portal profile to receive electronic payment.... Modification to PeopleSoft Payline Transaction Form

The description for one of the two Costing Options on the Payline Transaction Form is being updated in advance of the future implementation of costing at the position level. The description “Use Appt Level Costing” is being changed to “Use Existing Costing”. There is no change to how the form functions as a result of this label change. When this option is selected, it means that the payment will be processed using the employee’s existing costing on the Department Budget Table and does not need to be provided on the form.... Deadline to Claim *NEW* Tax Treaty Exemption with Harvard for Calendar Year 2019

If GLACIER determines a foreign individual is possibly eligible to claim a new tax treaty exemption for 2019, the completed GLACIER submission must be received by the Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance Office no later than 4pm on Friday, November 29th. This deadline is necessary due to IRS annual processing requirements and the short operating month of December allowed to meet these requirements. Submissions received after the November 29th deadline will only be under consideration for tax exemption beginning in 2020.
