Service Unavailable Error Message Update

Data Management Services (DMS) is pleased to announce dramatic reductions have been achieved in the HART Service Unavailable error messages. DMS implemented tools to explore the system logs and zero in on the pertinent information to isolate the root cause.  These tools have enabled us to track when the errors are occurring, and which components of the architecture are problematic.   DMS identified where the issue was and implemented configuration changes to help address the issue just before the winter break.

Elimination of the Service Unavailable error messages is a top priority in the 12c architecture redesign. DMS has retained Rittman Mead to identify additional areas of improvement.HART Upgrade to Version 12c

DMS continues to make progress on the HART upgrade from version 11g to version 12c.  This change moves HART to AWS Cloud, which provides better security, availability, monitoring, and the ability to easily scale. DMS is re-architecting HART to provide better stability for the system.  Version 12c also allows us to be on better supported software, with minimal impact to users.

The completion date for the upgrade has changed from April 2019 to May 2019 due to some unforeseen technical difficulties creating the proof of concept environment.  DMS has solved those issues the momentum of the project has picked up significantly.

Quick Tip: HART System Availability

  • · HART is available to users from 8 am-8 pm daily.
    • For most HART dashboards, this means you will be able to access data as of the last business day when you use the system during this time.
  • The Data Warehouse nightly loads run from 8 p.m. – 7 a.m.
    • While you will be able to log into HART during this period, it is strongly recommended that you do not run dashboards during this time, as an incomplete nightly close process may provide you with incomplete data.
