HART Tip: HART Sorting

When you first render a dashboard in HART, the default sort will be on the column that is found in the farthest left hand cell.   If it is not possible to sort on the first column, HART will then sort on the second column, and so forth.

There are two ways to add a primary sort to your dashboard:

Method 1:

  1. Hover your mouse over the column heading of the column you wish to sort. You will also see two triangles:
View of the sorting triangles on the HART dashboard
    • The triangle pointing up is Sort Ascending
    • The triangle pointing down is Sort Descending
  2. Click on the sort option you prefer.
    • When you apply the sort, the triangles will appear to the right of the column heading, and the triangle representing the option for sorting you selected will be darkened. In this example, Sort Ascending was selected:
View of sort ascending on the HART dashboard
    • This is your visual cue that you have sorted the dashboard.

Method 2:

  1. Right-click on the column you wish to sort to bring up the menu: View of right-click options for column sorting on the HART dashboard
  2. Select Sort Column, then either Sort Adcending or Sort Descending.

How can I add a secondary, tertiary sort to my dashboard?

Once you have set your primary sort, you can add a secondary sort by right-clicking on the column heading to bring up the menu and selecting either Add Ascending Sort or Add Descending Sort.

Continue to follow these same steps to create a tertiary sort. You can continue to sort as you wish.

How can I clear sorts?

To remove a sort, right-click on the column heading, select Sort Column, and select Clear All Sorts in View. Note that this will clear all sorts you have created.
