HART Upgrade to Version 12c

Data Management Services (DMS) is pleased to announce the successful implementation of the HART upgrade from version 11g to version 12c.  This change moved HART to AWS Cloud, which provides better security, availability, monitoring, and the ability to easily scale. DMS also re-architected HART to provide better stability for the system.  Version 12c also allows us to be on better supported software, with minimal impact to users.

Key Information

  • The look, feel, and basic functionality of HART remained the same.
  • Users now land on a homepage that provides system information and helpful tips.
  • Users now see a status page upon login between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. stating that the data is being refreshed.
  • Users can now copy cells from HART and then paste them into a HART prompt to narrow search results or into their favorite application, e.g., Excel, Word, etc.  Download the job aid with more details now!
  • There are now 2 Apply buttons on the dashboards found in the FIN-Core folder – please see the quick tip below for more information

Check out the HART Upgrade Basics job aid for detailed information about the changes implemented with this release.

Quick Tip:  Using the Apply Buttons on the Transaction Listing Dashboards

To maintain the regular HART printing and exporting ability, two Apply buttons are now needed to initially run dashboards in the FIN-Core folder.  Included in this folder are the Transaction Listing (all versions), Budget and Actual Comparison (both versions), Fund Management and the GL Account Monitoring dashboards.

Here are some tips to help you with the new process:

  1. These changes apply only to the FIN-Core dashboards.  Dashboards in other folders do not require the two Apply buttons.
  2. You must confirm your role by selecting the first Apply button – even if it is the only role you have in the system.
  3. You need to select the two Apply buttons when you initially run your search.  After retrieving your results, you do need to select both buttons again.  For example, if you run a search and then change the prompts, you only need to select the Apply button below the prompts.  You will be able to do this as long as you remain on the same dashboard.
  4. If you leave the dashboard and log out of HART or access another dashboard and return to the original dashboard later, you will need to select the two Apply buttons again.

Each dashboard has been updated with notes found on the left-hand side of the prompts indicating how users should initially run the dashboard:

  1. Select User Role and click Apply.
  2. Select prompts and click Apply.

Please see our job aid with details concerning the use of the two Apply buttons.
