OBI Financials Pilot

The MFR Project Team continues to prepare for the go-live of the OBI Financials Dashboards beginning this summer.  Are you ready to use the OBI Financials Dashboards with enhanced security features?  The Project Team continues to build and test the DAC 2.0 solution which will include dual segment security (security based on select two segments of the Chart of Account such as Org-Fund, Org-Root), the ability for a user to have multiple roles, and non-contiguous segment values.  These additional security features will ensure we are able to provide the appropriate security for individuals across the university.

The MFR Project Team has also begun delivering training sessions in preparation for users to begin using the dashboards with these enhanced security features.  The Introduction to OBI Financials Dashboard course will include instructor led training for 6 of the 15 Financials dashboards which were determined necessary based on the dashboard complexity, user volume and level of change from CREW report.  For the dashboards not covered in the instructor-led training, we will provide webinars, job aids and videos for each dashboard.

Pilot training sessions were delivered during late April and early this month to allow the team to refine the training program to meet stakeholder’s needs.  We are working with each of the schools to finalize the training calendar with much of the training expected to take place during the summer and early fall.  Schools that can rely on DAC 1.0 security will be fully trained by the end of the fiscal year.  Key training dates such as pilot user sessions, OBI drop in sessions, OBI Tools Training, and instructor led training, will be included on the OBI Training Calendar.

The next OBI Grants Management dashboard training sessions will take place this month.  For more information on the MFR Project or to understand local roll-out plans, please contact your Local Implementation Manager (LIM).
