Modernization of Financial Reporting (MFR) Project Update

January 12, 2017

OBI Financials Pilot
As of late November, all 14 new OBI Financials dashboards are in production and are being piloted by over 120 Pilot Users. These pilot users have been providing great feedback to their Engagement Councils, who in turn have provided this information to the MFR Finance Working Group and Project Team – there are now over 130 items that have been collated and prioritized in our backlog!

Currently, OBI Security is set based on Tub. However in the January release, “single-segment security” will be implemented which will allow access to the dashboards based on authorized TUB, ORG, FUND, or ROOT. This approach is referred to as the “Data Access Controls 1.0” (DAC 1.0) and will allow us to expand the pilot participation to include departmental administrators in some of the schools and groups. These additional pilot users will continue to help us uncover any data issues and elevate local concerns in preparation for the full scale rollout in July 2017.

OBI Grants Management dashboards
The CREW Grants Management reports were decommissioned on Friday, Dec 1 and are no longer available, with the exception of the Sponsored Invalid Code Combinations and GMAS User Security reports.  All scheduled Grants Management reports have also been terminated and removed from CREW.  The OBI Grants Management dashboards are available and will be the source for grants management reporting going forward.

The January OBI release will include updates to the Historical and Current Grants Financials dashboards. New content will continue to be released each month – please see our “OBI Release Notes” wiki page for details on past and future releases.

If you have not yet attended an OBI Grants Management dashboard training, there are more sessions scheduled in this month and in February and will be held quarterly thereafter.   Please check out the OSP Training calendar for more information on upcoming office hours and training sessions.
