my.harvard Update: New Tools and Wave 2 Progress

November 19, 2015

The Student Information System Program launched two new my.harvard tools at the beginning of November, and is working on a host of others for the coming months. Recently, we launched a tool that allows students to map out their academic careers and declare or change their concentrations, as well as a tool that allows advisors to approve concentration declarations

Our student financials team has also been hard at work on their January release. We expect to release 1098T tax forms to students in early January, and provide students the opportunity to opt out of paper 1098T forms so they can go green! We are also working to make more student account information available in January. The Analytics team is also delivering new functionality to sia.harvard.edu on a regular monthly schedule. BI authors now have the ability to create reports on student milestones and student advisors. If you are a BI author and are looking for hands on support, the team continues to hold weekly working sessions open to all BI authors on Thursdays at 10 Mt. Auburn Street.

We are also significantly ramping up our work on Wave 2 – a group of schools consisting of the Harvard Chan School, Graduate School of Design, Graduate School of Education, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and Harvard Medical School. Data conversions are happening, and at least one school can see their course information through a test instance of my.harvard’s course search. We have completed system integration diagrams and identified key milestone dates for most of the schools, and are now moving on to building detailed action plans and defining business processes.
