Have you checked out the newest OBI dashboards?

Last month, Data Management Services released 2 new Procure to Pay dashboards:

  • Purchase Order Listing
    • This new dashboard will provide a listing of  all Open and Closed Purchase Orders, with key information, such as the Preparer of the PO.  It will also include drill capability to display further information in a new dashboard, such as the Open Commitments (If the PO is still Open) and any Receipts against the PO.
  • Purchase Order Receipts Listing
    • This new dashboard will provide a listing of all Receipts for Open and Closed Purchase Orders, with key receipt information, such as Received By and Comments.  It will also include drill capability to display further information in a new dashboard, such as all of the Distribution Lines of the associated PO.

Update: "Name our Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Contest"

The window for entering the “Name our Oracle Business Suite Contest” officially closed on Friday, April 27th.  We had a terrific turnout with over 300 entries received!  Thank you to all who submitted an entry!!!

In case you missed the April eNews… Currently, HUIT has two different OBI environments: one based on the Student Data Warehouse, and one based on the Harvard Data Warehouse.  The second one (and the one we need named!) includes the dashboards for the non-student Accounts Receivables, CAPS, Cash Management, Chart of Accounts, CSMA, Financials, Grants Management, Procure to Pay, Travel & Expense, and User Security folders.

The co-chairs of the Working Groups for the above subject areas met on Wednesday, May 9th to narrow down all those fabulous entries to a top 5.  Once we have that top 5, Data Management Services will send out a poll to all OBI users to vote for their favorite. The community’s choice will be named the winner. Then the fun begins as Data Management Services will go through the vetting process to brand OBI with the winner’s name.

Good luck to all who submitted!  The winner of the naming contest will receive:

  • A pizza party for their department/unit/cenmter up to a $150 value
  • Gratitude from Data Management Services - Thanks a $Million$!!
  • Endless acclaim, renown and fame for you and your team – Priceless!

OBI Tip of the Month: The Amount Column's Impact on Subtotaling

If you are using a dashboard that contains an Amount column, be aware that if you attempt to subtotal on any column appearing to the right of the Amount column, the subtotal will not display.

For example, the Transaction Listing dashboards all contain an Amount column.  If you attempt to subtotal on a column that appears to the right of the Amount column, such as HUID or HUID Name, you will not see a subtotal:

Amount Column's Impact on Subtotaling

In order to see the subtotal, you must move the column to the left of the Amount column.  The subtotal will then display:
