PeopleSoft Position Costing for Position Tracking & Reporting on Target for May 11th

Beginning the evening of Friday, May 8th, PeopleSoft and Aurora will be unavailable until Monday, May 11th, 8 am (at the latest). This outage is needed to support the PeopleSoft May release and the creation of position costing for all incumbents in a position. 

A few highlights of some key important changes:

  • Costing in PeopleSoft will move from the appointment (person) to the position for all faculty and staff with position numbers
  • Costing will be required on any newly created positions
  • A new PeopleSoft costing page will be available to enter and update costing changes and a new security role will be created to access that page
  • Quick Hire Form and Job Data Change Forms will no longer allow for entry of costing for incumbents in a position

  • A presentation on "Understanding Position Costing Changes" was presented at the most recent change management forum and a copy may be found here.
  • Beginning April 15th we will have a Sandbox environment available for users to get some hands-on experience prior to go-live. The sandbox will be available to you remotely and we will hold office hours via Zoom.
  • Your local implementation manager is your best source of information for how this change will impact you at your school/unit.
