Position Tracking is Live

Over the weekend of October 5-6th approximately 15,000 employees were moved into positions in PeopleSoft, Aurora and Wasabi. This includes all staff, including union positions, and some schools have elected to include other classes (ex. Faculty, Post Docs, Temps etc.) at this time. A complete listing of required employee classes by school / unit may be found on our Wiki site

What does this mean?

  • An approved position is now required to post a job and recruit in Harvard Careers
  • An active and approved position is also required to hire staff and any other locally required groups in PeopleSoft.
  • New positions, and changes to existing positions such as reclassifications, can be requested in PeopleSoft, Aurora and Wasabi.  
  • Positions are also now feeding to the Harvard University Budgeting System (HUBS) to provide actual HR and earnings data.
  • The University Position application in the Workforce Analytics Qlik now gives a view of a school’s or of the university’s total positions, and you can easily drill down to see which are filled, which are vacant, and which positions are posted in Harvard Careers.
  • Reports and dashboards in existing Workforce Analytics Qlik, HUBS and the Harvard Analytics & Reporting Tool (HART) now contain position numbers.
