SIS: Course Search Released, Town Hall Meetings, and Upcoming Outages

July 16, 2015

As part of the new student information system and the revitalized my.harvard that will launch in August, the Student Information System Program is pleased to provide a sneak peek of the 2015-16 courses using the new Course Search, available here. New features will continue to be added through August and there are known issues still being worked on. In the meantime, this sneak peek will enable you to view next year's courses ahead of the full launch. Catalog coordinators and the Registrar's Office are continuing to edit course descriptions, attributes, and schedules so keep checking the Course Search for new and revised content over the coming days and weeks.

The SIS Program also successfully sent out the fall student bills to 24,000 students this week. Tuition and required fees for FAS and Divinity School students were auto-generated by the new tuition calculation functionality which allows for auto-calculation of tuition and required fees based on student records, eliminating the need for staff to send files or manually update changes.

In partnership with the FAS Registrar’s Office, we are also holding monthly Town Hall meetings to preview features of the new my.harvard. We are happy to report that this week’s town hall brought strong attendance (over 150 people), and opened the floor to great discussion and questions. Did you miss the town hall? View a recording here or attend our next meeting on August 11.

Upcoming Outages: In preparation for our major August release, please plan for an outage of all my.harvard applications on the following dates: 5pm, July 24 - through 7am, July 27 and 5pm, July 30- 7am, August 3.
