2022/2023 Winter Recess Schedule

The University will be in recess from Friday, December 23, 2022 until Monday, January 2, 2022. Financial and Sponsored systems will be available during winter recess; however, transactions will not be posted to the General Ledger or refreshed into HART and the Financial Data Warehouse, and the HUIT Support Center (617-495-7777) and FAD staff will be unavailable.

Oracle EBS 12.2 is Coming in April 2023

The Oracle financial system is being upgraded this coming April. For this upgrade, the Oracle and B2P systems will be unavailable from Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 5:00 pm through Monday, April 24, 2023, at 8:00 am. There will be more details over the next couple of months so watch the future eNews…

Tax Treaty Renewal Deadline for 2023

Please note this is only applicable for previously claimed tax treaty exemption that have been facilitated by Harvard in the current calendar year 2022. Per IRS regulations, tax treaties must be renewed annually for employees that will continue their work for Harvard in the U.S. into January of the next calendar year. To meet these requirements and claim a tax treaty exemption for 2023 (if previously determined eligible in 2022), employees MUST complete three steps by Monday, December 19th, 2022. Reminder: End-of-Year Reporting Implications for Redepositing/ Canceling Prior Year AP Checks

Redepositing/ Canceling checks issued in a prior calendar year has significant tax compliance and annual reporting implications for a payee and Harvard. If Harvard has already issued an annual tax document (i.e., 1099 or 1042S) to the payee, a redeposit to cancel a check can render that tax document incorrect and require Harvard to send the payee an amended form – which can also be problematic if the payee has already filed their annual returns....
