PeopleSoft Release 42: Enhancements and Outage Information

Due to HR Release 42.0, PeopleSoft and ASPIRE transmissions to PeopleSoft will be unavailable starting on Friday, September 18th at 5:00pm until Monday, September 21st at 8:00am.

The PeopleSoft 9.2 Upgrade is starting this month!

We received the ITCRB approval to begin working on the PeopleSoft 9.2 Upgrade. We are starting the planning phase in September and are targeting to complete the entire Upgrade by May  2017. Although the new version may not bring significant visible changes to the system, upgrading has several benefits, including:

  • Taking advantage of the new continuous delivery of functionality and improvements. Starting with version 9.2, Oracle will deliver new functionality on an ongoing basis as opposed to bundling it all into a new version and requiring a full upgrade.

MFR Project Reminds CREW Users of the Disabling of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management Reports on November 1, 2015 and Announces Enhancements to Existing Content

As we shared last month the project team will be disabling CREW Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management reports on November 1st.  At that time, FSS Client Services and the Harvard Data Warehouse (HDW) will disable the following CREW Reports and OBI will be the sole source for this information:

New Look for PIN Login September 22

On September 22, users who log in to Harvard applications and services using the PIN System will see a new look to the login screen, including improvements for users on phones and tablets. This change is in anticipation of this fall’s rollout of HarvardKey — the University’s new unified login credential for the Harvard applications and services you use every day.

Scheduled CPATH System Outages

September 17, 2015

A new Business System Analyst was hired at the end of June for CPATH.  Since then, the team has been focused on addressing the backlog of system bugs and developing additional functionality. To limit the disruption to users, there is a set schedule of outages through the end of the calendar year to implement the fixes and upgrades. Accordingly, CPATH will be temporarily unavailable for maintenance/migration of enhancements and bug fixes every other Friday after 3pm through the end of the calendar year. ESTR Upgrades Coming Soon!

ESTR will be upgraded in mid-October. Changes are a part of the University’s efforts to align the current version of ESTR with the Click® IRB product. Through this initiative, ESTR will remain customized to Harvard’s needs and will provide the benefit of sustainable long-term and robust support. The upgrade will also ensure that the IRB remains compliant with our accreditors and that all ESTR users benefit from a vendor-supported and hosted system. Oracle Financials Systems: Important advisory on Google Chrome v45 Browser

On September 1, Google released Chrome v45. This version of Chrome is not certified by Oracle and will not work with Harvard's version of Oracle Financials. When attempting to access Oracle via Chrome v45, users will see an error stating 'SSL Server Probably Obsolete' or something similar. If you are a Chrome user and have updated to version 45 (either manually or via auto-update), you will need to use an alternate browser such as IE, FireFox, or Safari to gain access to Oracle Financials. The University's Financial systems will be unavailable from 6:00pm on Friday, October 23rd until 6:00am on Monday, October 26th to accommodate the scheduled FINDINI 4.0.8 release. This release consists of many technical patches needed to make Oracle EBS compatible with the Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) browser & MS Office 2013.
