Administrative Reporting and Analytics (ARAP) Program Update

February 11, 2021

This month’s update lays the groundwork for the first six months of this calendar year:

  • Platform Build: The new application build has been completed; we are now beginning building the instance stacks that will enable us to migrate the first administrative reporting application to appear in the Oracle Analytics Server (OAS): the Harvard Analytics and Reporting Tool (HART).  This is expected to happen in April 2021.  Once the HART migration is completed, we will move to migrate the Student Information Analytics (SIA), followed by some of the Grants Management Application Suite (GMAS) Reports.
  • Data Models: While the migrations are happening, the data integration team is working with business groups on expanding existing data models in the financial and research administration subject areas.  We are also exploring how to create self-service subject areas to support those who wish to create their own reports in the OAS.
  • New Library Subject Area: In January we migrated a new library subject area into HART.  This subject area will allow the library to start using OBI with the library system and move from their legacy reporting system.  This is an exciting development as we begin to bring on new tenants and expand the administrative data profiles.
  • Retiring BRIO .bqys: Over 2020, we have been able to retire a good number of legacy BRIO queries by implementing new dashboards or enhancing existing dashboards in HART.  12 new dashboards and 3 existing dashboards were introduced or enhanced in HART to meet these needs.  We continue our analysis of existing dashboards and will continue to make progress this year.
  • Expanded Security Access: The ATS Client Services Team has stepped up to the daunting challenge of providing security access for those who will be joining the OAS and accessing the non-financial dashboards.
