PeopleSoft HR Enhancements

Salary & Costing Analytics now available to Managers and HR Administrators

Two new costing analytics are available for managers and workforce admin users:

  • Managers with compensation access will now see a Current Salary & Costing Pivot Grid via Manage My Team > Analytics. The pivot grid provides a snapshot of the current, in effect, costing and salary data for a manager’s direct and indirect reports.  The data is meant to be used to review and audit your team’s costing.  A job aid for using the Manager Self Service: Team Information Tile can be found on the Harvard Training Portal.
  • A new Current Costing pivot grid is accessible within the Workforce Insight and Costing tiles on the Workforce Administrator home page.  This analytic provides a snapshot of employees’ current, in effect, costing within your department level security.  The filters on the left-hand side can be used to narrow the results to help audit the costing data for accuracy and everything can be exported to excel. To get access, users must have department level security of some kind.

Flexible Work Form coming in PeopleSoft

Employees will soon be able to update their Flex Work Form in PeopleSoft and submit it to their manager for approval. Managers will be able to view their team’s Flex Work Forms in a new Team Talent Profile tile within Manage My Team.  More information to come from your local administrators.

New Team Talent Profile tile for Managers

A new Team Talent Profile tile will give managers the ability to view specific profile data for their direct and indirect reports, including education data, honors & awards, and the upcoming Flex Work form.

FMLA & job earnings distribution

To support State Family Medical Leave and to enable local admins to manage State FML administration, we are making changes to automatically update specific data when a PLA/PFM row is added via the Job Data Change Form.  When an exempt employee goes on leave using action/reason PLA/PFM, job earnings distribution data will be updated so that they are not automatically paid their regular salary in addition to the additional payments uploaded for their State Family Medical Leave pay.  When an exempt employee returns from leave using action/reason RFL/PFM, the job earnings distribution will be updated to what it was prior to the leave.  For further information on how to maintain State Family Medical Leave data, contact your local leaves specialist or local HR.

Reminder: Job Data updates should be avoided between 11:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Changes to job data between this window cause errors for the Harvard Data Warehouse, which loads PeopleSoft data overnight.  During this window, avoid the following:

  • Updating job data directly.
  • Submitting job data change and quick hire forms.
  • Completing uploads: job data, job code, or position data.
  • Approving position changes with an incumbent.

Note:creating a form and leaving in draft has no impact.
