New Publication Format!

The Harvard University Information Technology Research Administration and Compliance Systems team supports a number of University-wide systems. Historically, we shared system updates via separate eNews articles. However, to simplify information sharing with our community, we will now publish updates across our applications under this one eNews article heading.

GMAS

GMAS had a release May 31st which included:

  • Changes to comments
  • Changes to the current and pending support download
  • Updates to financial deliverables
  • Addition of the edit dates button on the proposal homepage
  • A new funding instrument type
  • Bug fixes, and so much more

The FY19 Q3 Certification period concluded on June 4th, 2019 with a 100% certification rate!

FY19 Q4 project statements and FY19 Annual statements important dates:

  • Review period: 9/3/19 to 9/23/19
  • Certification period: 9/24/19 to 10/23/19

The next ecrt Basics training sessions will be offered in early September on both the Cambridge and Longwood Medical Area campuses.

All Request for Proxy of Authority for Annual Effort Certifications forms must be submitted to OSP by Friday, September 13th. Tub deadlines may be earlier.

Year-end reminder: Please have any employee changes for FY20 in PeopleSoft by EOB July 1st, 2019. In any case, ecrt will use the data that is present on July 1st in PeopleSoft to determine quarterly vs. annual employee type status for FY20. This status will be locked in for FY20 and cannot be changed until FY21.

ESTR-IRB

As of June 1, 2019, all new studies certified as Data Security Level 3 data must undergo IT security review and certification before IRB approval or determination is issued. This change is part of a pilot initiative organized by Harvard IRBs and SSOs to streamline the review of studies involving the use of Level 3 research data, under the Harvard Research Data Security Policy.
