Research Administration Portal
- The Research Administration Portal was recently updated to include a new page “Project/ Protocol Teams”, which helps to display all project team members by Principal Investigator, for easier onboarding, offboarding, and general team management. Visit the Research Administration Portal Releases site for a full list of updates.
- Note that the Portal includes certain projects, protocols, and related tasks from HMS-IACUC, COMS, Agreements-DUA, Data Safety, ESTR, GMAS, statements from ecrt, certifications from OAIR, and assigned courses from the Harvard Training Portal.
- Grant managers also can access To Do items assigned to them, as well as To Do items and projects and protocols for the researchers they support.
- The team is preparing for another exciting release, scheduled for late February. Please visit the Reserch Administration Portal help site or contact research_adminportal_help@harvard.edu to learn more about upcoming releases and how you can use the Portal to support your work.
Research Administration and Compliance Reporting
- The Research Administration and Compliance (RACR) team recently released a set of minor changes to the new executive dashboards available in HART. Along with updates to data available through the Harvard Data Warehouse. Visit the Research Administration & Compliance Reporting Releases site for a full list of updates.
- We encourage you to visit and bookmark the new landing page to access research administration information. The team will continue to build out components of this page to enhance navigation in HART.

ESTR-IRB, Agreements-DUA, Data Safety, and OAIR
ESTR-IRB, Agreements-DUA, Data Safety, and OAIR were updated successfully in December. Please visit the Research Administration and Compliance Systems News page for additional information and detailed release notes.
Some highlights:
- ESTR-IRB, Agreements-DUA, and Data Safety: Improvements have been made to enhance workspace warnings and alerts and provide more context on related projects.
- Data Safety: Additional tracking measures were implemented to support ancillary reviews and ensure PI attestation for using regulated data.
- OAIR: Updates to workspace warnings and alerts.
The support team offers 30-minute informational sessions covering general system information, key changes associated with the upgrade, and answers to your questions. Visit the System Support Office Hours Booking page to register.
ecrt
FY24 Q2 Quarterly Project Certifications will be due on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
- Review Period: January 16, 2024-February 5, 2024
- Certification Period: February 6, 2024-March 7, 2024

GMAS
GMAS will be unavailable starting at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 8 for a release. The system will be available again at the start of business on Monday, March 11. Screens related to request signatures as well as to some of the requests categorized as "Changes to existing segment" are being updated to the new GMAS interface.
Benefits of the release include:
- Screens related to locking and routing signatures will be merged and converted to the new GMAS interface.
- The ability to set different central signatures across different request types on the same project will be included.
- The ability to notify required signatories that their signature is still missing will be added to request signatures.

Several “changes to existing segment” requests will be converted to the new GMAS interface:
- Pre-award expenditures
- Carryforward
- No-cost extension
- Interfaculty involvement at no additional cost
- Early termination
