Please note: a complete list of all administrative systems affected by the winter recess will appear in the December 2016 edition of eNews.

The University will be in recess from 5:00 pm Friday, December 23 until Monday, January 2, 2017.  Please review the following for special processing deadlines, cutoff dates, and system and support availability, leading up to and throughout the winter recess.

Holiday Worked Time Reporting Scenarios

Extra hours for a holiday worked are not paid automatically. If an employee works on a holiday, they should report HWK to be paid at a rate of 1.5 times their normal pay for the holiday hours worked. The employee is also entitled to their regular pay for the holiday (FHP), or they may bank the time (FHE) and take time off at a later date (up to 1/5 of the employee weekly scheduled hours).... Reporting in my.harvard – Data analysis and visualization now in beta

We are excited to announce that new student and class dashboards are now available in beta for specific user groups in the my.harvard community; for example Department Administrators or Faculty. These new dashboards feature improved visualization of data in charts and graphs, making high-level student and class data more accessible than ever. The reports allow you to view students’ bio demographic information, enrollments, career, program, and plan. ECRT Updates Scheduled This Weekend

ECRT will be unavailable for technical updates two times this weekend:

  1. For off schedule updates between 7:00 pm ET on Friday, November 18 and 11:59 am ET on Saturday, November 19; and again
  2. For ordinary monthly scheduled maintenance: Between 1:30 pm ET on Saturday, November 19 and 12:59 am ET on Sunday, November 20.   

There are no functionality changes based on these background updates.

HUBS Release 3.8 is coming December 6th, includes workday outages

Release 3.8 is a maintenance release which includes an operating system upgrade and the latest system patches and updates. HUBS, which includes Smart View, will be unavailable all day on Thursday, December 1, until the start of business on Tuesday, December 6, for the installation of the release.  Due to the complex nature of the installation, a buffer has been built into the plan; should HUBS become available sooner than Tuesday morning an email will be sent to users notifying them that HUBS is available for their use.... GMAS

GMAS will have a release on December 16, 2016. The release will include updates to the GMAS home screen and the confirm research team screen to update them to the new look and feel. It will also include a new screen for uploading budgets to the GL, minor enhancements, and bug fixes.... Read more about GMAS

Business Expense Reimbursements (”BER”) to Foreign Individuals

An Oracle enhancement for the vendor type “Business Expense Reimbursements (”BER”) to Foreign Individuals” will now allow administrators to better identify if GLACIER will be necessary for existing payment recipients found in the Oracle vendor database. Once a new vendor is approved with a “BER Foreign Individual” vendor type, it will be designated in the vendor database as “BER- Foreign Individual” for 30 days.
