HUBS: Release 3.9 and the Transition to SNOW

May 11, 2017

Release 3.9

HUBS Release 3.9 is coming on May 22.  HUBS* will be unavailable during the installation of the release which will begin at 10:00pm on Friday, May 19, and it will continue through to the start of business on Monday, May 22.  A couple items of note are:

  1. A new patch has been installed to correct report formatting issues.  Although many issues are fixed with the patch, some reports have lost formatting in the headers and footers, but only in the HTML version. These new issues will be corrected in a future release.
  2. Alternate hierarchy codes have been increased from one to two digits and this change allows for more hierarchies per dimension.  TFO users who update alternate hierarchies should get a new copy of the template used for the updates.  The new template will be available on May 22 in #2 on this page:  https://wiki.harvard.edu/confluence/display/FSSHUBS/TFO+Utilities.

Transition to SNOW

Many HUBS users send emails to hubs@harvard.edu to request assistance.  Beginning in July when an email is sent to that address it will automatically open a request for help in Service Now, the University help desk system also known as SNOW.  The request will be assigned to the HUBS Team, the same folks users work with today.  A number of University financial systems already use SNOW and many HUBS users are likely to be familiar with it, but details and guidance about the HUBS transition will be provided for users next month – please stay tuned.

* HUBS includes Smart View, Interim Reporting, MYFP and TEFA.
