Upcoming PeopleSoft System Outage & Enhancements

September 8, 2022

PeopleSoft Upcoming Outage

PeopleSoft and all external system transmissions from/to PeopleSoft will be unavailable starting on Friday, September 9 at 5:00 p.m. until Monday, September 12 at 8:00 a.m. (at the latest) due to the PeopleSoft Fall 2022 Release.

Beginning on Monday, September 12, users will see the following key changes

Absence Approval Workflow Changes (Approvals Tile)

Only Managers will be able to view their direct reports’ absence requests under the Approvals Tile. Key points regarding this change are:

  • Absence requests will be routed to the Approvals Tile by Supervisor ID only.
  • If a supervisor is Terminated or on Leave, the approval will then be routed to the supervisor’s supervisor.
  • If the Supervisor field is blank, the approval will not be routed, instead, the Proxy Approvers/Admins will see the submitted absence request on the respective pages.

Proxy Absence Approvals Page Changes

As mentioned in the August 11, 2022 eNews article, Upcoming PeopleSoft HR Enhancements, the Proxy Absence Approvals page is now live in PeopleSoft!  This page was created for users who approve absence requests on behalf of other managers (proxies or delegates). Since the release of the August eNews addition, we’ve added an additional location to access the Proxy Absence Approvals page, so it can be easily accessible to Administrators.

Based on your individual security access in the system, you can now access the tile in one of the following locations:

  1. Home > Manage My Team > Team Time and Absence > Proxy Absence Approvals
  2. Home > Administer Time and Absence > Manage Absences > Proxy Absence Approvals

Weekly Absence Approval Emails

Managers and Administrators will continue to receive the same weekly Absence Approval emails.  The format of the email will contain 2 sections to make it easier to identify your direct reports and approvals you may need to perform on behalf of a colleague.
