ARAP Program Workstreams Update

As reported in last month’s eNews, several program workstreams have been identified to facilitate the expanded ARAP scope. Here is a high-level update as to where we are with each Workstream Category:

Platform Build Architecture & Infastructure, OAS Security Design & Data Modeling Platform Build
  • OAS Greenfield (new) app is built
  • Completed the review of architecture & instance plan
  • OAS presentation server configurations are completed and automated
  • Documenting the design standards
  • Collaborating with the Data Modeling Team to determine the requirements for duplicating the DAC security model into OAS and to define the integration path for SIA into the DAC security model; additionally determining a general security model that can support other teams
  • Working to define how user roles will be managed in DV
  • Flux analysis in progress - draft model yet to be determined
  • GMAS draft design in progress
  • Security design for SIA started
  • PCARD to be released in Dec
  • HUBS and my.harvard connection and RPD design in progress
Service Design, Training & Program Manangement OAS Service Design, Training & Communication, Project and Program Management
  • Conducting budget review and assessment of needed resources through 6/30/2021
  • Reviewing persona security roles
  • Milestone / timeline review and planning in progress
  • Developing ARAP eco-system definition
  • First Office Hours session held 10/29/2020   Notes from the session are available here. Next session scheduled for Thursday, 11/19/2020 at 9 am
  • First Sprint Demo Hour scheduled for Thursday, 11/12/2020 from 9 am-10 am.  Among the topics to be covered includes a presentation on the Covid reports
  • LIM meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm
  • Meeting to share training personas with FAS conducted on 11/6/2020
  • Scope of each ARAP Release is being defined
  • Timeline for each workstream is being confirmed
Content Delivery Finance Community Engagement, Research Administration & Compliance Engagement, FAS Adoption, Harvard Library Adoption; OAS Enhancements

Finance:

  • October release delivered enhancements for GL Account Monitoring, CAPS Building Selected Data and New Project Proposal & Construction Authorization
  • Continuing to prototype the Wage Flux Analysis report in Data Visualization and working with Data Warehouse to design data model
  • Developing Accounts Payable Data for Cash Flow Data Model
  • Developing PCard Dashboard
  • Adding a new report called “Projects Data for MER” to “CAPS Operational (CP)” dashboard
  • Preparing for next Finance Reporting and Analytics Working Group

Research Administration & Compliance:

  • Finalized governance group membership, kickoff across the groups intended for December
  • After data modeling strategy, have honed in on one prototype addressing a "slice" of data (awards).
  • The next sprint will focus on continued development and will provide input into the process going forward such as dependencies, timeline, and resources needed.
  • Brio and Tableau analysis is expected to be completed during the next sprint.

FAS Adoption:

  • Focus has been on report development and currently, 4 of 25 for early adopters in College ADMFAO are in progress
  • Report development will be a focus of the current and next sprint
  • Work has started on POCs for the FAS Finance area is expected to continue for the next month

Harvard Library Adoption:

  • Created a subject area for the Library in the HART Dev environment
  • Role created to allow self-service reporting for Library users in Dev
  • Eight Library users have been set up in Dev to test the data model and provide feedback.  Depending on the outcome of the testing, changes may be released to HART Production in December.

OAS Enhancements

  • Completed accessibility testing results for comment and generated action items follow up.
